I purchased Trend Micro's AntiVirus 2008 from Best Buy. Due to software compatibility issues, I could not get it to work right. Best Buy does not offer a refund for opened software so I contacted Trend Micro and asked how to get a refund directly from them, but they emailed me back telling me that they are "bound to comply with the retail store policies."
It's quite absurd for them to hide behind a retail store's policies and totally abandon the customer with unusable software! Nothing about it is stated on their website in their refund policies - they want to trap as many people as they can just to make a buck. Another company's software that I needed to return was decent enough to stand by their own policy to grant me a refund. Such a shame that Trend Micro turned out to be one of the bad guys.
